Business Development Associate/Estimator
Modoc Tribal Enterprise Authority is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and self-starting Business Development/Estimator to join our team part-time. The Business Development Associate/Estimator will report to the President of the Federal Solutions Group
Responsibilities
- Identifies and nurtures strategic relationships with partners or potential customers.
- Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
- Researches and analyzes current and future business opportunities.
- Works with marketing, sales, and product development teams to implement business development initiatives.
- Prepares and estimates costs for projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements.
- Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.
- Identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
- Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes.
- Coordinates with project management, engineering, procurement and other project stakeholders.
- Reviews internal processes, transactions, documentation, and systems to validate compliance, evaluate effectiveness, identify issues, and prepare reports and recommendations for remediation.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree in civil engineering, accounting, business management, or related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in business development or project estimating is needed.
- Understanding of accounting, data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Candidate must have knowledge of relevant technical and non-technical documents, exceptional quantitative skills, and outstanding research and proposal writing skills.
- Must have the ability to negotiate with seasoned Sales personnel.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check prior to employment.
- Previous experience in project estimating or business development for federal projects is preferred.
